IN tonight's episode of 22 Youngsters & Counting, parents-of-22 Sue and Noel confronted a serious conflict.
We saw Sue and Noel at their worst, after a clash of parenting meant the mother and father of Britain's biggest family did one thing they never do – argue.
It all started on a night like another – Noel was quick asleep, while Sue was awake.
But Sue found her son Max enjoying video games at 2am, leaving her fuming.
She explained: "I was really mad when I found them gaming at 2am. They should be tucked up in bed, getting their magnificence sleep."&
To which Noel added: "I imply, within purpose, I don't thoughts it. It's not the top of the world is it? It's the weekend, there's no faculty in the morning."
As a couple, Noel and Sue are united, however in terms of their attitudes to parenting, less so.
Sue claimed: "Our parenting types are undoubtedly 'Good Cop', 'Dangerous Cop'. I'm seen because the Dangerous Cop."
While most of the youngsters commented on Sue's 'strict' parenting, Noel gushed: "I do wish to be buddies with my youngsters. You're still their mother or father but you're their good friend on the finish of the day."&
And it appears that the couple's largest parental disagreements are over one thing – Max's 24/7 gaming behavior.
Sue revealed: "I completely hate it. I feel like he's getting sucked into this pit of doing completely nothing however gaming. It's very miserable."
But with Noel pleased to let 'boys be boys' and let Max do what he needs, Sue had to take issues into her personal arms, as she stated: "Max before gaming, he beloved science, he liked maths, but now, it's simply gaming.
"I'm going to should introduce some ground rules. I'm fairly sick of being labelled the Dangerous Cop."&
Sue and Noel's 13th teenager, Max admitted: "I can't actually consider anything that I like more than gaming. I personally assume I'm not gaming too much, however other individuals might disagree.&
"It tends to be each time I get house, to every time I'm going to mattress."&
But issues shortly prompted battle between the mother and father once they headed to a caravan park in Northumberland for a household getaway.
Sue headed first to the caravan, and Noel adopted shortly after with the remainder of the youngsters – but there was one notable absence.&
As Noel received behind the wheel, he explained: "That is the first time Sue has let Max stay at house while we go away. So hopefully he doesn't burn the house down or something drastic like that.&
"However yeah, a bit stunned that he's been allowed to stay behind."
But issues soon erupted into an argument as Noel and the remaining youngsters arrived at the caravan – only for Sue to discover Max had been left at residence.
Noel defined: "Max stated you stated he can keep at house. I assumed he checked together with his mum."
However Sue was fuming, as she replied: "Max knew that he had to come on that holiday. I advised you multiple occasions that he was not staying at residence."
To which Noel admitted: "He's pulled the wool over my eyes.
"Me and Sue never fall out. Properly, not fairly often. [But] once we do – ouch."
But as the family returned house from their break, Max had to face his punishment – a 72 hour display ban and a telling off from Sue.
Clearly extremely irritated, Sue fumed: "Max! I'm actually not completely satisfied! Don't ever, ever, play one father or mother off towards the opposite. It's very naughty."
In an try and resolve Max's gaming habit, Noel organized for huge brother Josh to talk with Max.
The pair went to the butterfly home, someplace that Max feels comfortable.
Josh received candid together with his younger brother and admitted: "Mum and pop have been coming to me quite a bit and saying that they're actually frightened about how a lot you're spending on your gaming.
"You possibly can't be enjoying eight, ten hours a day. I've been worrying about you."
Max then admitted his reasons for eager to play video games, as he shared: "It's fun, easy."
However Josh wasn't satisfied, as he added: "It felt like he wasn't telling me all the things."
Moments later, Josh had managed to resolve the difficulty, as Max opened up a few analysis he acquired in 2021.
He candidly shared: "Faculty is a place that's prioritised around socialising. I've already established that I've issues with that."
He later defined: "Talking to Josh, I've realised that my autism makes it onerous to socialise, therefore why I've struggled to socialise my entire life.&
"Autism is probably the rationale that I retreated to the gaming world.
"Perhaps I recreation rather a lot because I don't really speak to individuals on the surface. I do play with my mates, it's just on-line."
Because of his realisation, Max made the decision to attempt one thing he's never finished earlier than.
His father Noel shared: "Max has asked if he can work a shift within the store, to check his nervousness on speaking to strangers. I'm shocked he needs to do this but I'm glad he needs to attempt."&
Shortly after, we saw the daddy and son head to the family's pie store, as the teenager obtained his uniform on and prepared to service clients.&
The teenager admitted: "I've never achieved a day's work. I'm quite nervous."&
However by his second buyer, Max was already more assured.
At the end of the shift, the teenager beamed: "It went better than I assumed it will. It was rather a lot easier to talk to individuals than I assumed it might be. It's helped increase my confidence."&
