A new Silicon Valley-esque boomtown on the west coast is getting so popular that it's sparking a housing crisis. Olympia, the capital city of Washington state, had the fastest growing technology sector in the United States from 2018 to 2023, according to a report this week from the Milken Institute. 'Olympia's high-tech sector truly stands out,' the report says, also noting that growth in the city's professional services and information technology sectors outpaced the nation as a whole.
