Eric Stonestreet is celebrating his birthday with the gift of marriage.
The "Modern Family" star and his longtime partner Lindsay Schweitzer, 46, tied the knot after a four-year engagement. He shared the news in an Instagram post on Sept. 9, which is the actor's 54th birthday.
"It's my birthday and guess what I got," he captioned a carousel, the second photo of which showed him and Schweitzer walking down the aisle. "I got married!" Stonestreet wrote on top of the picture.
Stonestreet quickly received a message of congratulations from Jesse Tyler Ferguson, whose character Mitch was married to Stonestreet's character Cam on "Modern Family." "Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite!" Ferguson commented on Instagram. "I love you both! I'm so happy for you!!!!😍😍"

"The X-Files" and "Californication" star David Duchovny has let fans in on a secret: He's once again a married man. Appearing on "TODAY with Jenna & Friends" on Sept. 3, the actor accepted Savannah Guthrie's congratulations on his recent nuptials and added, "I did (get married), in February. Thank you."Though he kept the rest of the details close to his chest, he has been connected to florist Monique Pendleberry in recent years; the two have gone out on a few public outings where they were photographed. USA TODAY has reached out to Duchovny's rep for more information.
He later reposted a photo of the pair together with an old-age filter applied to Schweitzer, playfully telling followers, "Apparently a lot of people think I look too old, as a 49 year old man, to be engaged to my almost 42 year old fiancé. Look, she can't help that she looks so great at 42 and I can't help that I apparently look like her grandad so, I fixed it for everyone."
The newlyweds have birthdays just days apart, as hers is on Sept. 7 while his is Sept. 9. Ahead of the wedding announcement, Stonestreet posted a heartfelt birthday message for Schweitzer, writing, "You are beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of to do life with." He added, "I can't wait to see where this next year takes us and how many fun and lasting memories we create."

Stonestreet is coming off a role on "Dexter: Resurrection," a follow-up to "Dexter" starring Michael C. Hall. Stonestreet is best known for his performance as Cameron on "Modern Family" and has previously said he hoped to reprise the character in a Mitch and Cam spinoff series that was rejected.
"Jesse and I maybe felt like they thought of us as the old guys or something like that, that didn't seem worthy of keeping those characters going," he said in an interview with Graham Bensinger last year. "It felt a little hurtful. But people make business decisions. We can't get involved in that."
