After three years away from the stage lights, Cheryl Burke is expecting "waterworks" when she makes her return to "Dancing with the Stars."

"It's going to be emotional. It's going to be pure joy," she said of her upcoming "Halloween Night" guest judging gig in a Deadline interview published Oct. 27.

"It's going to be all of the feels, so my makeup artist is going to have a hard job trying to glue on my lashes," she continued. "There will be waterworks, for sure."

The 41-year-old dancer and former "Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans" podcast host will join Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough behind the judges' desk on Oct. 28. Nine pairings remain in the competition, which is now in its 34th season.

Cheryl Burke will return to "Dancing with the Stars" for the first time in three years on Oct. 28.

The episode will be the first time Burke returns to the show since her 2022 exit — she'd joined the competition show in 2006, during Season 2, and won two back-to-back Mirrorball trophies. Despite her time away from the ABC show, Burke confirmed she's still an avid viewer, telling Deadline, "I watch like a crazy person, of course."

The two-time champion also reflected on the difficulties of navigating the dynamic between dancing pros and the judges.

1 / 1'Dancing with the Stars' cast revealed for Season 34, including Hilaria Baldwin and more"Fifth Harmony" singer Lauren Jauregui will perform with partner Brandon Armstrong.

"It's important to give constructive criticism if it makes sense. I don't believe judges should call the pros out by name. This is about respect, right?" she said. "I know what it's like to be a pro, and I think to put 'em on blast is not necessarily constructive."

She explained that "there's a way of (giving feedback) without having the pros feel like crap about the situation."

Shouting out newcomer Jan Ravnik and Rylee Arnold — who joined the cast in 2023 — Burke defended the pros by saying: "They put in so much work. This is their lives, and they've tried their best. They're not trying to fail."

Burke added: "You can't beat experience, especially on this show."
