Live from New York, it's the KPop Demon Hunters!

During the Season 51 premiere on Oct. 4, "Saturday Night Live" played catch-up on several pop culture moments it missed during the show's summer hiatus, including the release of the wildly popular Netflix animated film "KPop Demon Hunters" − and the singers from the movie even made a surprise appearance.

In the sketch, host Bad Bunny plays a man who makes brunch with his friends awkward by harping on his obsession with the movie, which he declares is "actually not for kids." They repeatedly try to change the topic, but he remains distracted thinking about the film.

Eventually, a thought bubble appears on screen containing Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, who provide the singing voices for the members of HUNTR/X in "KPop Demon Hunters."

The sketch concludes with the trio showing up in person at the brunch to sing "Golden," the biggest hit song from the movie. Bowen Yang plays Jinu, a demon character from the film, complete with a rendition of another catchy song from its soundtrack, "Soda Pop."

Audrey Nuna, Ejae and Rei Ami attend a screening of "KPop Demon Hunters" on June 16, 2025, in Los Angeles.

Centering on a girl group who protect the world from demons, "KPop Demon Hunters" has become a phenomenon for Netflix since it debuted in June, and a sing-along theatrical release of the film was a hit at the box office in August.

The surprise sketch cameo comes days before Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami are set to appear on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Oct. 7, where they're slated to perform "Golden."

The "KPop Demon Hunters" sketch also squeezed in a reference to another pop culture moment "SNL" didn't have the chance to spoof while on summer break.

As Bad Bunny's character is distracted thinking about "KPop Demon Hunters," his friends say various absurd things that should get his attention, including Chloe Fineman's character revealing that work been difficult because "I wrote the Sydney Sweeney American Eagle jeans ad."
