Maya Rudolph Shares the 1 Thing She Regrets About Her Time on “Saturday Night Live”

Saturday Night Livecan bethe perfect place to meet your partner, as there have been plenty of hot Hollywood stars who have fallen for the funny cast members of the sketch comedy series.Maya Rudolph, however, was not one of them.

Rudolph recently sat down with fellowSNLalum and friend Amy Poehler for the latter'sGood Hangpodcast, where theLootactress lamented the fact that she never tried to shoot her shot with any of the celebrities who hosted during her nine years onSNL.

During the live recording, Rudolph abruptly quipped, "Can we talk about flirting more? I didn't get to, like, sleep with anybody atSNL."

Poehler, 54, hilariously consoled her by saying, "I know, I'm sorry," prompting Rudolph to question, "Why didn't I flirt with people?"

Eventually, the comedian, 53, concluded that she is simply "bad at flirting," to which theParks and Recreationstar agreed.

"I agree, you don't read it. Everyone was in love with you," Poehler said in between laughs. However, Rudolph remembered things differently, joking, "I didn't have that experience."

Joking aside, Rudolph's longtimerelationship withOne Battle After Anotherdirector Paul Thomas Andersonwas likely the reason she never mixed business with pleasure while starring onSNLfrom 2000 to 2007.

The couple has been together since 2001 andshares four children:Pearl, 20, Lucille, 16, Jack, 14, and Minnie, 12, named after Rudolph's mother, Minnie Riperton. Though the two are not legally married, the actress has referred to Anderson as her husband since the birth of their first child.

While the couple didn't meet on the NBC show, the filmmaker once told Rudolph that it was love at first sightafter he saw her in a sketch.

While she worked with dozens of celebrities during her tenure atSNL, theBig Mouthactress recently revealed that athletes were her favorite hosts for the show, and named one specifically.

"I've always said this, my favorite, favorite hosts whenever they were onSNLwere always professional athletes, always," Rudolph told Kylie Kelce on the Oct. 16 episode ofNot Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, adding, "Derek Jeter, probably one of my all-time favorite hosts ever."

One specific sketch that he did cemented him as her favorite.

"There was a sketch that my friend wrote where [Jeter] was wearing, where he came to a party with a perm, and he was just wearing a perm wig, and it might be my favorite memory of that night," she added.
