StarringMichelle PfeifferandKurt Russell, the emotional drama consisted of six episodes and followed the Clyburn family as they moved from New York City to Montana, all while dealing with a heartbreaking loss.
Paramount+describedthe series as "a heartfelt study of grief and human connection," calling it "Sheridan's most intimate work to date."
Christina Voros, who directed all ofThe Madison's first season, toldThe Hollywood Reporterin March 2026, "It is a simpler story in many ways on the surface, but infinitely more complicated, emotionally, underneath it."
"There are an abundance of river references to be made when describingThe Madison," she said.
Season 1 ofThe Madisoncame to an end on March 21, but the story of the Clyburns isn't over.

Will there be a season 2 ofThe Madison?
The Madisonseason 2 has already been filmed.
In January 2026, Russell toldEntertainment Weeklyhow the shooting schedule forThe Madisonwas adjusted so he could join the series as he was set to be filmingMonarch: Legacy of Monsterswhile the Sheridan show was in production.
"Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor were able to get together with the people at Paramount+ and said, 'Well, let's do two seasons instead of just one,' " he explained.
Russell continued, "'And then before we start the second season next year, instead of doing that, we will start with Kurt's stuff. We really do want him to play the guy. And we'll get his first season out of the way first, and jam all that in there, and then go into the second season and do that.' And so we were able to do that."
Season 1 ofThe Madisonconsisted of six episodes, and so will season 2, according to Russell.

Pfeiffer and Russell have already filmedThe Madisonseason 2, but the other cast members joining them have not been confirmed.
The rest of the season 1 cast includes Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman,Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova andWill Arnett.
One actor who won't be returning isMatthew Fox, who plays Paul Clyburn, Russell's character Preston's younger brother.
"This is a contained experience for me in the show, and I'm very happy about that," theLostactor toldTV Insiderahead of the show's finale. "It's been an incredible experience."

Plot details for season 2 have not been revealed, but look for future episodes to continue the chronicles of the Clyburns.
In a March 2026 interview withThe Wrap, Pfeiffer said season 2 has "a surprising amount of laughs and comical relief."
"I think that in the first season it goes in between sorrow and grief and denial and trying to be stoic, and all of those confusing feelings when you've had a traumatic loss in your life," she explained. "And so Season 2, I think it's a little more raw and more in sinking in."

The members of the cast are hoping the series keeps going long after season 2.
