Taylor Swift enchanted the 2026 Academy Museum Gala with a special performance.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, the 14-time Grammy winner took the stage in Los Angeles to perform her original song“I Knew It, I Knew You” from Toy Story 5.

Swift, 36, wore a sparkly floor-length gown as she sang the hit song, which reached No. 1 on U.S. country radio and became her first track to top the list in 13 years.

It was announced that Swift would be performing at the 2026 Academy Museum Gala earlier this month.

“Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world,” said Amy Homma, Director and President of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection, in a press release statement. “We are thrilled to welcome her to this year’s gala and look forward to her performance to close a wonderful evening of honoring three extraordinary filmmakers and supporting the Academy Museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema.”

The sixth annual event, which “advances the museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema,” also celebrated honorees including filmmaker and composer John Carpenter, Colman Domingo, and Charlize Theron, per a press release.

According to a release, the evening’s proceeds will allow the museum to continue “world-class exhibitions, support educational opportunities, offer dynamic public screenings, and remain accessible to visitors of all ages.”
