Is Sigourney Weaver hinting at her role in the new Avatar movie, Fire and Ash? The iconic actress, 75, may have been promoting her new movie, Dust Bunny, at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, but all eyes were on her fiery bold fit.
Weaver stunned on the Canadian film festival's red carpet, hitting the Dust Bunny premiere on Monday, September 8, rocking a long, black satin coat featuring a ruby pattern. The striking print was not only enhanced by the monochromatic pants and black top she wore underneath — the red print appeared almost like flames.
Sarandon paired the stunner of an ensemble with a more muted pink lip and her signature auburn hair.

During interviews on the red carpet with Dust Bunny director and writer Bryan Fuller, Weaver was proud to show off her jacket, emphasizing the lapels for the camera. Fuller — who was dressed in a black-and-yellow ensemble complete with a bunny pattern — quipped that the two were matching on purpose, with him opting for the black-and-yellow color scheme while Weaver went with the black-and-red.
Though she was at TIFF to promote her starring role in Dust Bunny, the Alien actress — who added a bit of glitz to her fit by rocking sparkly buckles on her shoes — dished to People about what Avatar fans can expect from the upcoming installment.
"Each of these [Avatar] films [have the] same themes of family and trying to stick together and protecting your home. But the stories themselves really wrench you into another world," Weaver told the outlet. Avatar: Fire and Ash — which is set to be released just before Christmas 2025 — "seems particularly timely," she hinted.
