Jake Paul Says He Had 'Some Teeth Removed' After Breaking His Jaw During Heavyweight Fight: 'Lots of Pain'

The YouTube star, 28, shared a health update onInstagramon Saturday, Dec. 20, revealing that he is on the mend, but still in pain, after undergoing surgery for a broken jaw following hismatchagainst Joshua, 36.

Sharing a photo of himself recovering in the hospital and a video of his X-ray, Paul wrote in his caption, "Surgery went well thanks for all the love and support."

"2 titanium plates on each side. Some teeth removed. Have to have only liquids for 7 days, so no @doghausdogs :(," he continued.

Paul's fiancé,Jutta Leerdam, responded in the comments section of his post, writing, "My man ❤️."

Paul lost to Joshua during their scheduled eight-round fight at Miami's Kaseyer Center on Friday, Dec. 19.

He was knocked down four times during the match by theformer unified heavyweight champion, receiving the final landing punch during the sixth round, according toESPNandSky Sports.

"I think my jaw is broken," Paul said, while spitting blood, after the match, per theNew York Post. "It's definitely broke. But that was a nice little ass-whooping from one of the best to ever do it."

The former Vine star later thanked the medical team at Miami University Hospital for taking "amazing care of me" in anXpost after his surgery.

Paul's loss against Joshua marks his second defeat in his fighting career, and his first by knockout.

Despite his significant injuries, the social-media-star-turned-professional-boxer shared his gratitude for taking part in the fight in anInstagram post.

"Great experience. I love this sport. Time to rest, recover and return to cruiserweight," wrote Paul, adding, "Who do you want to see me fight?"
