John Stamos joins 'The Hunting Wives.' What we know so far about Season 2.

Get your wine glasses ready. The steamy Southern-based drama"The Hunting Wives"is returning to Netflix soon.

Adapted from May Cobb's 2021 novel, the show follows new Texas resident Sophie (Brittany Snow) after she meets socialite Margo Banks (Malin Åkerman) and is sucked into a wealthy, exclusive circle of women who she learns like to party but also have deadly secrets.

In Season 2, as Netflixexplains,"Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?"

"I'm so excited to write these amazing characters again," creator and executive producer Rebecca Cutter said in a press release. "And I can't wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted... crazy ride through Maple Brook."

Here's what we know about the second season of "The Hunting Wives."

The series is told from the points of view of Tom, Mark Ruffalo's FBI investigator, and everyman robbery ringleader Robbie (Tom Pelphry).

Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez are seemingly unstoppable, and their building has a seemingly infinite number of murders in this Hulu mystery comedy.

The cops chasing the robbers include Charlotte Spencer as Nicki Jennings, Emun Elliott as Tony Brightwell and Hugh Bonneville as Brian Boyce.

David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown lead the returning cast in the fifth and final season of this Netflix juggernaut.

'The Hunting Wives':Showrunner talks possible Season 2, Texas, series reception

When will 'The Hunting Wives' Season 2 premiere?

There is no official premiere date for Season 2 of "The Hunting Wives." However, Netflix has announced thatthe show is currently in productionand filming in the U.S.

The new season will have eight episodes, and it will be released as a Netflix series in nearly all countries where Netflix is available.

Season 2 isadding new characters to the mix. According to Netflix, John Stamos ("Palm Royale"), Dale Dickey ("Winters Bone"), and Gigandet ("Violent Night") are joining the cast. Stamos is set to play Chase Brylan, Dickey as Zelda Moffitt, and Gigandet as Gentle John Moffitt.

The streaming platform previously announced that "The Bold and the Beautiful" star Kim Matula and Australian actor Alex Fitzalan, known for his role in "The Society," will be part of the next installment. Matula joins as Nadia Kelly, and Fitzalan as Lincoln Trout.

Creator says new season 'could go a lot of different directions'

Margo and Sophie have a complicated relationship.

In an interview with USA TODAY before the show was renewed, showrunner Cutter said that the Season 1 finalelays the groundwork for more storylines.

"Season 1 ends in a place where it could go a lot of different directions, and I have an idea of what I think is the right direction," Cutter said.

The showrunner explained, the murder mystery storyline and the personal relationships between the wives, "particularly Sophie and Margo," drive the show, so a potential Season 2 would have to "weave those things together."
