Former 'DWTS' Host Tom Bergeron Announces Return to Beloved Show

Tom Bergeron is making his return to one fan-favorite series after being fired fromDancing With the Stars.

"In two weeks (1/28), I'm back to Square one 😏 @hollywoodsquarescbs," Bergeronteased via Instagramon Tuesday,January13.

Hollywood Squaresis an American game show that originally premiered in 1965. Contestants compete in a game of tic-tac-toe by asking celebritiesquestionsand judging the truth of their answers in an effort to win cash and prizes.

Originally hosted by Peter Marshall, Jon Bauman took over in 1983, followed by Bergeron in 1998 until 2004.

For the show's latest iteration, Bergeron will take on one of the celebrity spots rather than returning to hosting. Former football player Nate Burleson will be hosting theDrew Barrymoreproduced revival.

TheAmerica's Funniest Home Videoshost's return comes just weeks after he celebrated the 20thanniversaryofDancing With the Stars.

"It pissed me off. I'll be honest with you," he toldThe Hollywood Reporterof his 2020 firing from the ballroom. "I did not like the showrunner. He knew that. I didn't like being lied to, and he did that. So when he got fired, I think when Twitter was still a thing, I posted, 'Karma is a b---h.' So I couldn't be happier that the people who arerunningthe show now are running the show. But to be honest, the 20th anniversary, in other people's hands, would not have lured me back."
