Nikki Glaserbrought a biting joke straight to CBS, the network that is broadcasting the 2026Golden Globe Awards, when she returned to host the awards ceremonyfor the second year in a row.

On Sunday, Jan. 11, Glaser, 41, took the stage at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles to kick off the 83rd annual Golden Globes ceremony. In her opening monologue, Glaser called out the Trump administration for its redactions of theEpstein filesin recent weeks. She also took aim atcontroversial editorial changes at CBS Newsthat have sparked internal debate at the national news outlet.

"I cannot believe the amount of star power we have in this room tonight. It's insane," Glaser said. "There are so many A-listers, and by A-list I do mean a list that has been heavily redacted. And the Golden Globe for Best Editing goes to the Justice Department. Yes. Congratulations."

"And the award for most editing goes to CBS News," she added, to significant laughter and applause from the audience. "Yes, CBS News, America's newest place to see BS news. We needed another."

Glaser's jokes about CBS News come just under one week after anchorTony Dokoupil began hostingCBS Evening Newsand weeks after the outlet abruptlypulled a planned60 Minutessegmentthat focused on Venezuelan men who were deported by the Trump administration to a notorious El Salvador prison.

Dokoupil is the sixth anchor of the broadcast in the last decade, with his new gig coming amid several changes atCBS Newsfollowing Skydance's $8 billion acquisition of Paramount, CBS's parent company. The merger also came afterCBS News settled a lawsuitwithPresident Donald Trump.

In October, Bari Weiss, best known for running the opinion website The Free Press, was named editor in chief of CBS News, despite not having experience running a news organization the size of CBS.

The comedian also took some time during her monologue to roast celebrity attendees, includingLeonardo DiCaprio. Glaser joked that the actor is nominated for "one man bun after another" instead of his movieOne Battle After Another, and that he has "won three Golden Globes, an Oscar and the most impressive thing is you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30." (DiCaprio, 51, is currently dating Italian model Vittoria Ceretti, 27.)

Glasermade her debuthosting the Globes in 2025, which she described as "without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career" when she announced she would return for a second go-around at the gig.

"There's lots to joke about this year —and the star power in the room is going to be bigger than ever," she told PEOPLE on Jan. 2, while speaking to her plans for hosting this year's awards ceremony. "I mean, it's bigger than last year," she said. "I kind of have to keep wrapping my head around the kind of people that are going to be present in this room."
