Rose Byrne gives update on bearded dragon after Golden Globes win: 'He's really cute'

Rose Byrneis providing a much-needed update on the bearded dragon that her longtime partnerBobby Cannavaleand their two children were out getting when she won her award at the2026 Golden Globes.

The Australian actress addressed the newest addition to her family after winning the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy forIf I Had Legs I'd Kick You.

"It's going well," Byrne toldExtraof their new pet situation. "We've got the guy. He's really cute and he's in the house and it's going well."

She described the little fella as "adorable," but noted that they haven't settled on a name for him. "I don't know yet," Byrne said. "I'll let you know!"

The 46-year-old also took a moment to commend Cannavale for skipping the ceremony in order to pick up the bearded dragon with their kids. "Bobby is doing God's work!" she said. "This is easy!"

During her acceptance speech, Byrne explained that Cannavale couldn't be with her at the event because "he went to a reptile expo in New Jersey." She added, "So thank you, baby."

Byrne toldExtrathat she got to have "a quick FaceTime" with him shortly after winning the award. "He was super cute!" she said. "He was crying and he was adorable and I wish he was here, but my brother's here, so."

Byrne previously revealed on last Thursday's episodeThe Tonight Showthat Cannavale wouldn't be attending the ceremony with her because he'd be spending the day in "deep Jersey" picking up the bearded dragon.

At the time, she explained that the expo happened to fall on the same day as the Golden Globes and that it would be "such a parent fail" if they didn't secure the bearded dragon for their two sons. "So we're doing it," she remarked, "and I'm on board for the dragon. It's gonna be great."

Directed by Mary Bronstein,If I Had Legs I'd Kick Youtells the story of a psychotherapist (Byrne) who is pushed to the brink amid an ever-growing list of professional, health, and family struggles. The movie also features performances from Conan O'Brien, Danielle Macdonald, A$AP Rocky, and Christian Slater.
