Tennis Star Carlos Alcaraz Reacts to Multiple Marriage Proposals from Smitten Crowd During Australian Open Match

Carlos Alcarazand opponent Corentin Moutet weren't the only ones taking their shots at the 2026 Australian Open.

As the two tennis players faced off during the tournament's third round on Friday, Jan. 23, Alcaraz, 22, was surprised with multiple marriage proposals from a smitten crowd at Melbourne Park in Victoria.

At one point during play, the Spanish athlete was walking back to his position on the court when a woman yelled out, "Carlos, marry my daughter!" — which sparked lots of laughter from the stands. Moments later, another fan shouted, "Marry my sister-in-law!"

Still eliciting no reaction from Alcaraz, a man then chimed in, "Marry me!" The audience cheered in response, finally prompting Alcaraz to crack a tiny smile in acknowledgement.

Along with the three marriage proposals, the Grand Slam Champion, who is currently ranked No. 1 in the world, clinched a 6-2, 6-4, 6-1 win over French player Moutet, 26.

"When you play someone like Corentin, you don't know what's going to be next," Alcaraz said in an on-court TV interview after the match, perESPN. "I had so much fun on the court. As you could see, we both pulled off great shots. Great points."

The mid-match love from the crowd came just months after Alcaraz spoke out about his relationship status amid rumors that he was dating fellow tennis playerEmma Raducanu, with whom he teamed up for mixed doubles during the 2025 U.S. Open.

During a press conference after his Nitto ATP Finals debut in November, Alcaraz fielded a question about his love life from doubles player Elena Vesnina, perTennis.com.

Vesnina asked if his "heart was taken," and he replied, "No, I'm free. I'm free. I'm free," with a laugh.

Raducanu, 23, reacted to the buzz that she and Alcaraz were dating while speaking with theBBCin June 2025. She said she was "glad the internet is having fun and we're providing some entertainment for everyone."

Alcaraz was also previously rumored to be datingBrooks Nader. The model, 28, addressed the speculation that she was dating both Alcaraz andJannik Sinnerat the same time during an appearance onWatch What Happens Live with Andy Cohenon Sept. 17.

When a fan asked whether the two tennis players knew "about each other," she responded, "I mean, I would just say, a lady never kisses and tells, especially twice. That's just not nice."

Cohen, 57, then reiterated that the fan had asked whether "the fellas know that you were dating both of them" and added, "Or were you dating both of them? Is that true?"

"I mean, dating is such a loose term these days," Nader responded. "It's just you know — I don't know. By the way, my only thing is guys do it all the time. So why can't I do it? They do it all the time."
