At the83rd annualGolden Globeson Sunday, Jan. 11, Glaser took the helm as host and gave afunny, flattering and frivolousperformance, though not without some moments that caused her Hollywood audience to cringe.

At one point, Glaser made a joke about the "Sinners" heartthrob playing twins Smoke and Stack in the period horror film.

"I can't believe it, we got two Michael B. Jordans. When I saw that, I was like, Nikki B. Jerkin', because that was awesome," Glaser joked, creating a play on the actor's name. "I'm sorry, Michael."

Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Garner were among the first presenters of the night. During her emotional acceptance speech for Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, first-time winner Teyana Taylor shouted out Longtime Hollywood power couple Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick co-presented the best supporting actor award. While the audience cackled and Jordan, 38, hid his face with a laugh, the joke seemed to fall flat with his mother, Donna Jordan. In a reaction that has made the rounds online, Mama Jordan took a sip of water as her eyes darted and widened.

Earlier on the red carpet,E! Newsasked Jordan's mom what she wants the world to understand about her son, with the actor joking she should "keep it clean."

"Just his commitment," she said of the "Creed" star. "And his dedication and his persistence to his craft, and the messages that he tries to share with everyone with the choices that he makes and the work that he does. I'm very proud of that."

Meanwhile, Jordan came up short in his category at the award show, for best film drama actor. "Sinners," though, went on to receive the award for cinematic and box-office achievement.
