Nick Reinerpleaded not guilty to murder in connection with the December 2025 killings of his parentsRob Reinerand Michele Singer Reiner.

Nick, sporting a shaved head, facial hair and brown jumpsuit, appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court for his arraignment in front of Judge Theresa McGonigle on Monday, Feb. 23.

At the arraignment, prosecutors say they're still awaiting completed autopsies of the slain couple.

Prosecutors allege that Nickfatally stabbedhis parents inside their Los Angeles home in the early morning hours of Dec. 14 before fleeing the residence, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Nick, 32, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances, including theuse of a knife.

If convicted, he could face life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

On Monday, Nick entered not guilty pleas to two counts of first-degree murder, appearing alongside his public defender, Kimberly Greene. He was denied bail.

Greene assumed the case in January after attorneyAlan Jackson withdrew.

During the hearing, Nick waived his right to a speedy trial and is next due in court April 29.

Authorities arrested Nick on the night of Dec, 14, 2025, shortly after officers discovered the bodies of his parents inside their Brentwood residence. Prosectors allege he fatally attacked both victims inside the home. He has remained incustody without bailsince his arrest.

The couple's youngest child, daughter Romy, discovered her dad's body inside their home, and she later learned that Michele had also died.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said that they were called to the Reiner home around 3:30 p.m. and attempted to provide medical aid, but the victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Rob and Michele werekilled with multiple sharp force injuriesin their bedroom hours before.

Rob and Michele, who had been married since 1989, were alsoparents to son Jake. Prior to marrying Michele, Rob was married toPenny Marshallfrom 1971 to 1981. During their relationship, Rob adopted her daughter, Tracy. Jake and Romy later released a statementmourning the loss of their "best friends."

"Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day," the siblings said in a statement shared with PEOPLE. "The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren't just our parents; they were our best friends."
