The Miami Dolphins have locked down Zach Sieler and made him their highest-paid defensive player.

The Dolphins reached a three-year, $67.75 million contract extension with the defensive tackle on Sunday afternoon, his agents announced. He will now earn $22.5 million a season, which is more than double what he is currently making, and will get $44 million guaranteed.

Sieler, who was a former walk-on player at Division II Ferris State, was selected in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. He was released by the team a year later, though, and the Dolphins picked him up off waivers during the 2019 campaign. He's been in Miami ever since.

The 29-year-old team captain has erupted over the past two seasons. He's recorded back-to-back seasons with 10 sacks for the Dolphins, which has been the team-high, while averaging 59 total tackles. Before the 2023 season, he had only made 3.5 sacks in a single season.

Sieler had signed a three-year, $30.75 million extension with the Dolphins before the 2023 season, and was due to be a free agent in 2027. He is now among the top-10 highest-paid defensive tackles in the league.

"[Sieler is] the heartbeat of our defense," Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver said, via the Palm Beach Post.

The Dolphins went 8-9 last season and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2021, though the franchise still hasn't won a playoff game since the 2000 season. They'll open the season on Sept. 7 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Noah Lyles edged rival Kenny Bednarek in a spicy 200-meter final at the USATF National Championships Sunday that concluded with Bednarek shoving Lyles in the back.

After the race's conclusion, tension between the pair carried over into a post-race interview with NBC.

The high-stakes matchup was the latest between the two world-class sprinters. Lyles is a three-time world champion (2019, 2022, 2023) in the event and defeated Bednarek at the 2024 U.S. Olympic trials ahead of the Paris Games.

But Bednarek got the best of Lyles in Paris with a silver-medal finish ahead of Lyles' bronze-medal run that denied him double Olympic gold after Lyles was victorious in the 100 meters. Lyles later revealed that he ran the 200 meters in Paris while sick with COVID-19.

Bednarek, meanwhile, has been the dominant male sprinter on the circuit this year and was undefeated in the event in 2025 — until Sunday.

Bednarek got the early jump in Sunday's final before Lyles ran him down from behind on the straightaway. Lyles passed Bednarek late to cross the finish line first with a time of 19.63 seconds for his fifth U.S. championship in the event. Bednarek settled for the silver medal with a time of 19.67 seconds.

As they crossed the finish line, Lyles gave Bednarek a look from his place one lane to Bednarek's right. Bednarek responded with a shove in Lyles' back.

Lyles turned around with his arms raised and a few words for Bednarek. Bednarek extended his hand, which Lyles begrudgingly accepted for a handshake before an extended exchange of words. Spectators at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, collectively gasped when they saw the slow-motion replay of Bednarek's shove.

Then came the post-race interview of both runners with NBC. The tension was still fresh, and the runners were hashing things out in the range of NBC's camera and microphone before the interview commenced.

"You're right," Lyles said to Bednarek.

"I expected a call," Bednarek responded. "I'm telling you, if you've got a problem, I expected a call. That's all I'm saying.

"You know what? You're right," Lyles responded. "Let's talk after this."

Bednarek then addressed Lyles' late-race look when asked about it.

"I'm not gonna say it out here," Bednarek said. "But we've got something to do and talk about. That's all I've got to say."

The two have several weeks to work things out before they meet again on the track. With Sunday's result, Bednarek earned a spot in Tokyo for the World Championships. As the reigning world champion, Lyles' spot in Tokyo was already secure. They'll both be among the favorites to win the 200-meter final that's slated to be run on Sept. 19.

They'll also have a chance to meet in the 100-meter final in Tokyo. Bednarek secured gold in the U.S. 100-meter final on Friday. Lyles did not compete, but has a bye into that event as well thanks to his World Championship win in the event in 2023.

The Miami Marlins' red-hot summer just keeps coming. The Marlins powered to a 7-3 win over the New York Yankees on Sunday, completing a sweep of the Yankees for the first time in franchise history.

Miami also hit the milestone in front of a big crowd, with a series attendance of 101,545 setting a franchise record.

With the win, Miami moved to 55-55, hitting .500 for the first time since April. The team dropped to 24-40 in early June, but have won 31 games in the two months since to pull to even.

Did Miami get a dig in at New York in the run-up to the final out? You be the judge here over the Marlins' curious choice of playing "Sweet Caroline," a Fenway Park tradition, in the ninth inning.

Sunday's win came easily to the Marlins, who took a 3-1 lead after two innings. Then, in the fourth inning, Kyle Stowers hit a three-run homer to bring Miami's lead to 6-1.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a two-run bomb in the seventh to help the Yankees cut into the deficit, but an RBI triple from Jakob Marsee secured the 7-3 win.

The series was a poor showing from the Yankees, who dropped the first game 13-12 after a trio of relievers blew a 9-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh. All three pitchers — Jake Bird, David Bednar and Camilo Doval — were recent acquisitions ahead of the MLB trade deadline.

The bad luck continued Saturday, as the Yankees were caught sleeping while Miami powered to a 2-0 win. Then, on Sunday, the Marlins secured the historic sweep.

Miami will keep trying to ride that momentum through the next series, a homestand against the AL West-leading Houston Astros. The Yankees, meanwhile, will lick their wounds on the way to playing the Texas Rangers in Arlington.

It was only a matter of time before Cameron Young won on the PGA Tour.

Though he's been in the mix plenty of times lately, he left absolutely no doubt at Sedgefield Country Club on Sunday.

Young, after briefly building up a massive eight-shot lead, cruised to a dominant six-shot win at the Wyndham Championship. It marked his inaugural Tour win after seven runner-up finishes in his career and four top-10 outings already this season. The win also earned him a $1.48 million check, which was part of an $8.2 million purse.

Young is now the 1,000th unique winner in PGA Tour history.

— Golf on CBS ⛳ (@GolfonCBS) August 3, 2025

Young entered the final round with a five-shot lead, thanks to his bogey-free 5-under 65 on Saturday. He grabbed an eight-shot lead at one point on Moving Day after rattling off four straight birdies on his front nine.

While he opened with a bogey on Sunday after leaving his approach on the first just shy of the green, Young made up for it immediately. He made five straight birdies and reclaimed his eight-shot lead once again without any issue. Young made the turn at 4-under for the day, and saved his par at the ninth with a huge approach from the thick rough right next to the cart path.

— Golf on CBS ⛳ (@GolfonCBS) August 3, 2025

Though Young stumbled a bit at the end — he bogeyed the par-3 16th after missing an up-and-down par save, and then he made a second straight bogey at the 17th — it didn't matter one bit. He posted his final round 68 and rolled to the win.

Mac Meissner finished alone in second at 16-under, and Mark Hubbard and Alex Noren tied for third at 15-under on the week. Matti Schmid finished T31 with his 1-over final round, which moved him to No. 70 in the FedExCup standings. He's the last man into the Tour's postseason and will get to compete in next week's FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis as a result.

Davis Thompson, however, is the first man out. He went 2-under on Sunday, and even drained a 47-footer for a birdie late in the day to move inside the top 70.

— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) August 3, 2025

Thompson, though, ended up falling back out to No. 71.

Young entered the week at No. 44 in the Official World Golf Rankings and was already a lock for the FedExCup Playoffs. But his win on Sunday will jump him up to No. 16 in the FedExCup standings, which is enough to send him through to the season-ending Tour Championship, and to No. 21 in the OWGR.

It's also going to move him to No. 15 in the Ryder Cup standings. He started the week at No. 19 with no path to move into an automatic bid spot — only the top six qualify for the U.S. team that way — but Young is now undoubtedly in the mix to earn a captain's pick to make the team, especially if he can keep this push going through the first two rounds of the playoffs.

But regardless of whether or not he's representing the Americans next month or not, Young finally has a Tour win under his belt.

Several towns in eastern Australia were blanketed with their thickest layer of snow in decades as wild weather swept the area over the weekend.

Cars, roofs and gardens were completely white as a cold air front dropped as much as 16in (40cm) of snow on parts of northern New South Wales on Saturday, the most since the mid-1980s.

Snow also settled in areas of the neighbouring state of Queensland for the first time in ten years, Miriam Bradbury, a meteorologist at Australia's weather bureau, said.

The snow, combined with heavy rain and thunderstorms, has led to more than 1,455 incidents, according to the New South Wales State Emergency Service.

The Bolt Inn at Uralla, New South Wales, has become a refuge for people displaced by the snowstorm

Thousands of homes are expected to remain without power for another 24 hours, while mobile phone outages have been widely reported across the area.

More than 200 vehicles were stranded on roads due to snow, storms had damaged buildings, and major flood warnings were issued.

The rain started to ease on Sunday, but parts of New England in New South Wales were told to evacuate ahead of major flooding expected on Monday.

Ms Bradbury said climate change has made Australia's weather more volatile in recent years, but that this sort of event had only occurred several times in history.

"What makes this event unusual is how much snow we had but also how widespread, covering quite a large part of the northern tablelands," she said.

Many were keen to make the most of the unexpected weather. Footage showed residents making snowmen and enjoying snowball fights, a rare sight in Australia's most populous state.

"It's a very surreal experience. I've never seen snow before in my entire life," Brendan Gough, who travelled hundreds of miles from Queensland to experience the phenomenon, told Reuters.

Police in New South Wales, said a car had become stuck in floodwater on Saturday evening and a female passenger was swept away. The search was continuing on Sunday, they said.

The 27-year-old woman was rescued without injuries, police later said on Monday, adding that the search for other possible victims was underway.

Jack Osbourne is reflecting on his late dad Ozzy Osbourne's eating habits.

During an Aug. 3 TV appearance on the U.K. food show Cooking with the Stars — filmed before his father's death — Jack, 39, spoke about growing up in a house where professional chefs often cooked the family's meals.

"I grew up on potato waffles until we moved to America," he said, recalling how he, Ozzy, mom Sharon and sisters Aimee and Kelly moved to the U.S. from England when he was around 11 years old. "We would get take out all the time — apart from times when we had a chef."

Jack joked that the Black Sabbath frontman never employed any one chef for a long time, as he was a "picky eater" who would suddenly decide: "'No, I don't like it anymore,' even though it's some amazing chef."

Osbourne died on July 22 at 76 years old. Jack publicly mourned his father's death alongside his mother and siblings on the Black Sabbath bridge and bench in Birmingham, England.

Ozzy had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2023. Before his death, he performed his final Black Sabbath concert in early July.

A source close to the family also told PEOPLE that the rocker was to be honored by his family with a funeral befitting the star's infectious spirit.

"They're very grateful for the special family time they had together before Ozzy passed," the source said last week. "They're planning a small, private funeral that will be a celebration of his life. Ozzy would never want a mope-fest."

The source added that the rocker's family is "touched by all the love and support pouring in from around the world."

Although Jack hasn't yet spoken publicly about his father's death, a number of other Osbourne family members have looked back on Ozzy's life — including Jack's ex-wife Lisa Stelly.

Stelly posted a touching tribute on Instagram of Ozzy with his grandchildren throughout the years. From painting in the house to flying in a private jet, the proud mom of three shared several special memories of Ozzy enjoying being a grandfather.

Stelly, 38, reposted the post onto her Instagram Stories, adding "Love you, Papa" in text and Ozzy's 1995 song, "See You on the Other Side."

Daughter Kelly, 40, also posted a photo on her Instagram Stories on Aug. 1, showing a flower display crafted in honor of Ozzy.

An arrangement of purple flowers that spelled out "Ozzy F------ Osbourne" could be seen in the social media post.

The florals were similar to those that were laid at the hearse at Ozzy's funeral.

Kelly previously shared a poignant tribute to her dad on her Instagram Stories on July 24, posting lyrics from the Black Sabbath song "Changes," which she and Ozzy recorded their own version of in 2003.

"I feel unhappy I am so sad," Kelly wrote in her social media post. "I lost the best friend I ever had 💔."
