Alexander Skarsgård Reveals First Movie Crush, Admits He Saw Actress at an Awards Show but Was Too ‘Intimidated’ to Say Hello

Alexander Skarsgårdis revealing his very first celebrity crush.

In a new interview withW Magazine, thePillionstar, 49, revealed that, growing up, his first cinematic crush was none other thanJessica Langeafter seeing the "gorgeous" actress in 1982'sTootsie.

"It was the first time I felt butterflies. I was mesmerized by her," Skarsgård told the outlet.

Although he admitted that he still hasn't met the iconic actress, 76, all these years later, he recalled seeing her once from afar — and was equally as mesmerized.

"I saw her at an awards show a couple of years ago, and I definitely got starstruck," he said. "I did not say hello. I was intimidated."

While theKing Kongactress will always hold a special place in his heart, Skarsgård has been in a relationship withTuva Novotnysince early 2022, when they first sparked romance rumors.

Although the pair largely keep the details of their romance private, the Swedish actor confirmed toEntertainment Tonightthat hewelcomed his first child with Novotnywhile walking the red carpet at theSuccessionseason 4 premiere in March 2023.

While Skarsgård tries to keep his personal life out of the spotlight, he grew up as a child actor as the son ofStellan Skarsgård. He admitted toW Magazinethat, as a kid, he "hated the fact that my family wasn't normal."

"I wanted to blend in. My biggest dream was for my dad to work in an office, a cubicle, wear a gray suit, drive a Saab to work, and have a briefcase," he said.

"My father's an actor, but I didn't want to be an actor at all, actually," he admitted. "When I was 7, my dad's friend, who is a director, needed a 7-year-old kid for his movie, and I happened to be around. When I was 13, I did a small movie made for television, but it got a little bit of attention and it made me very uncomfortable."

At the time, Alexander just "wanted to be a normal kid," so he quit acting for a while.

Eight years later, however, theLegend of Tarzanactor found his way back to the craft out of, as he put it, "desperation."

"When I was 20, 21, I remembered that I quite enjoyed being on set," he told the publication. "I went to theater college in New York and, after a few years, I got my first job in the States. It wasZoolander."
