The recall follows a number of food contamination recalls in the U.S. in the past several weeks. On Jan. 7, the FDA issued a recall for tamales distributed by Primavera Nueva Inc. in California and Nevada.

The FDA's recall includes specific lots of the brand's four-count tamales. "The products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems," the FDA wrote in astatement.

Additionally, Great Lakes Cheese Co., a cheese manufacturer and packager headquartered in Ohio, issued a voluntary recall on several of its products onDec. 3due to "potential metal fragments."

The products were distributed in 31 states, including Texas, California and New York and Puerto Rico, according to the FDA.
