The author ofI'm Glad My Mom Diedappeared on the Wednesday, Jan. 7 episode ofCall Her Daddyand opened up about her familial and romantic relationships. The former Nickelodeon star spoke about the allegedly abusive relationship with her late mother,Debra, throughout her childhood.
As the interview came to a close, hostAlex Cooperasked the 33-year-old actress, "How has your childhood influenced your idea of motherhood?"
McCurdy bluntly replied, "I don't want kids if that's what you're asking," and then quickly turned the question to Cooper, 31.
The podcast host explained that throughout her twenties,she didn't want children, but her mindset has since changed. TheiCarlyalum interjected to say, "That's interesting, because most people know," adding, "I feel like most people know early on and they stick with that."

McCurdy then continued and clarified, "I know I don't want kids at this point in my life. I'm also open to wanting kids at some point."
She then revealed that in September 2025, she underwent the process of freezing her eggs. "Because I don't know if I'm going to change my mind," she said.
McCurdy noted that she and her boyfriend have "discussed it," but she noted that neither of them really wants kids, but they are "open to changing [their] minds and being in that process together."
"I didn't want to change my mind 10 years from now and it be too late," she added.

McCurdy also detailed the egg freezing process, explaining that when she first considered it, the doctor made it seem "terrible" and "awful." But around a year and a half later, in the summer of 2025, she started revisiting the idea.
"I went to a different doctor, and they seemed much more comforting. I felt much more safer in that environment, and I thought, 'Okay, I'm gonna go for it.'"
She confessed that she thought the process would be "terrible," because she was "warned it could be really emotional, with having these big mood swings."
"For me, it was not that," she said. "It was really straightforward and simple."
She noted that a nurse helped her throughout the process and came to her home every night, acknowledging that if she had done it on her own, it "would have been a lot more stressful."
