Owen Hargreaves is leaning in the direction of Arsenal of their Champions League quarter-final with Bayern Munich, though the Germans are 'harmful underdogs' in the tie.

The heavyweight contest begins on Tuesday night time in north London before the second leg on 17 April in Bavaria.

While this season may be Arsenal's return to the Champions League after a spell within the European wilderness and they're taking over mainstays within the elite of the competitors, they definitely have the superior form of the 2.

The Gunners sit prime of the Premier League while Bayern are 16 factors behind Bundesliga chief Bayer Leverkusen after back-to-back league defeats.

Hargreaves isn't writing off the group he played for from 1997-2007, however believes they are underdogs in the tie.
