Individuals have been warned to 'keep inside' their houses at this time after a man was discovered lifeless with 'suspicious gadgets'.

The person, who has not been named, was discovered lifeless at around 12pm after officers carried out a welfare examine at his house in Stockport, Manchester.

However an Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) staff needed to be deployed to look the property as 'suspicious gadgets' have been discovered.

Manchester Evening News (MEN) reported that the objects have been unused firearms, with witnesses claiming they have been from 'World War Two'.

Neighbours along Woodhall Crescent, near Reddish Vale Country Park, have been ordered to stay inside by police.

The residential road was taped off, leaving locals shaken.

One lady, who asked not to be named, stated: 'It's unnerving, particularly if you've acquired youngsters and stuff.'

Philip Nightingale added that he had just come back from a purchasing journey when he noticed a bomb squad had swarmed his neighbourhood.

'I used to be a bit scared once I noticed the bomb squad. I assumed, "What the hell is occurring here?"' he stated.

'Half of the neighbours have been out. The police officer stated keep in the home. It's by no means a uninteresting moment spherical here.'

Bomb disposal officers left the home at around 5pm.

Whereas the street has since reopened, police stay at the scene.

A spokesperson for Larger Manchester Police stated: 'Higher Manchester Police have been referred to as to Woodhall Crescent in Stockport at round midday as we speak (Monday eight April 2024) to a report for the concern of the welfare of a man.

'Officers attended and sadly discovered a man deceased at the scene which is believed to not be suspicious and next of kin have been informed.

'While getting into the property suspicious gadgets have been discovered and Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) subsequently attended to examine. This has now been completed and people gadgets deemed protected.

'Enquiries on ongoing, with a cordon put in place on the time, to determine the complete circumstances and ensure the safety of residents.'
